Gather Around The Table.

  • 1. Meal

Something special happens around the table. You feel it.

It doesn’t matter so much whether you’re serving take-out, your favorite go-to recipe, or planning a pitch-in.

It’s what begins to happen as you gather that makes the difference.

  • 2. Stories

Sitting around the table naturally leads to sharing parts of our stories. We can relate to those who have been through similar situations and learn from those who have different experiences from our own.

Deepening friendships and a sense of belonging happen as we linger over a shared meal.

  • 3. Prayer

Begin by praying for who you will invite. Your table may be meant for a group of Mercy Road folks, or your table may be an extension of daily life filled with neighbors, coworkers, or friends.

Pray conversations will lead to connection while providing a tangible reminder of God’s love for your guests.

Hosting a table is easy.

1. INVITE guests, friends, neighbors, family, coworkers, anyone!

2. DECIDE when, what, and where you will eat. Host at home, at a park, or order take-out.

3. PRAY, EAT, and SHARE stories about life.

4. SNAP & SUBMIT a photo to be featured on The Table Photo Wall! Take a vertical photo of your gathering (it must be vertical, so no one gets cut out). Submit Photos to thetable@mercyroadne.com

Table Questions

A few good questions can prompt conversation and deepen connections. Here are a few questions to choose from to get the conversation going.

  1. What was the best and worst part of your week?

  2. What place have you always wanted to visit and why?

  3. If you could have any career in the world, what would it be?

  4. What is something you are passionate about, and why?

I’m not ready to host a table, but I’d love to be invited to one.
